Ten unclaimed bodies at Witbank Government Mortuary

It is a concern that bodies are unclaimed while families are looking for loved ones and not knowing where they are.

Witbank Police has appealed to families with missing loved ones to come forward as the number of unknown bodies in the mortuary continues to increase leading towards the festive season.

Spokesperson for Witbank police, Captain Eddie Hall said 10 unclaimed bodies are still lying at the Witbank Mortuary Health Department.

These include the body that was found on Springbok Street in Tasbet Park, earlier last month where some body parts were found in a black refuse bag.

“It is a concern that bodies are unclaimed while families are looking for loved ones and not knowing where they are during the festive season,” added Hall.

Families missing loved ones are advised to visit Witbank Mortuary Health Department or call 013 656 0891 to enquire.
