Local municipality raises concerns over growing vandalised transformers and cable theft

Residents in Empumelelweni, Mareldene, and Pine Ridge were affected by cable theft and a vandalised transformer.

Amid the ongoing water system collapse, Emalahleni Local Municipality is faced with yet another service delivery crisis.

Alarming cases of cable theft and vandalism have been reported in some parts of the city.

These continuous reports have resulted in longer power outages endured by residents.

Areas such as Pine Ridge, Empumelelweni, Duvha Park, Tasbet Park, Reyno Ridge, Ben Fluer, and Mareldene have been affected.
