Running for a good cause in eMalahleni is always a fun outing

The streets around Elkana Educational Centre were busy as athletes competed in the annual ‘Pay per Kay’ race.

The annual ‘Per per Kay’ race was hosted this past weekend. Dubbed the ‘Rekkie Race’ it was presented by  Coaldust Road Runners. Participants from all walks of life gathered at the school, eager to contribute to a worthy cause while showcasing their running prowess.

The ‘Pay per Kay’ race offered a unique twist, allowing participants to choose any distance they deemed fit on Saturday, March 16.

The starting point for the ‘Rekkie Race’ was the school located on Aasvoël Street. As the starting gun sounded, runners embarked on their chosen routes, traversing scenic paths and bustling streets alike.

Abie Smit, a representative of the organising committee, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the community.

“The turnout has been incredible,” Abie said.

 

 

“It’s heart-warming to see people come together to support this initiative and make a positive impact,” concluded Abie.
