Where is the water in eMalahleni?

It has been 10 hours since the municipality's last update on the water situation.

One can only but wonder what is going on at the main water purification plant.

At 10:00 the Emalahleni Local Municipality posted the last update on the water situation.

They said in a short statement on their Facebook that the team worked throughout the night to replace the faulty valve at the raw water inlet, unfortunately at 02:00 when the plant was being re-commissioned a line burst further up before the main isolation valve.

“The burst pipe needs to be replaced urgently and the contractor is on the site attending to the pipe burst,” the statement read.

They warned that the reservoirs are all empty and the city will have no water.

WITBANK NEWS reached out to the municipality for an update but has yet to receive a response.
