Vosman Police capture murder suspect after two-year evasion

Vosman Police capture murder suspect two years after taxi driver’s death

Vosman police have made a significant breakthrough in a murder case that has been evading justice for two years.

Their crime prevention unit apprehended a suspect wanted for a murder committed on August 23, 2022 in Hoopoo Street in Reyno Ridge.

The spokesperson for Vosman Police Station, Captain Elizabeth Hlathi said, “On Sunday, information landed in the attention of police in Vosman on the whereabouts of the suspect, and the members drove to Siyabuswa, where the suspect was hiding. On their arrival, the suspect had no chance to play hide and seek tactics and was sniffed out from his hiding zone.”

According to a police report, the two men, both taxi drivers, argued over the transportation of schoolchildren.

The altercation escalated, and the victim was fatally stabbed.

Since then, the suspect has been on the run, evading arrest.

Hlathi added, “The hardworking members then handed the suspect over to police in Witbank for processing and further handling. The police management in Vosman reiterated the point that working together with the community continues to yield positive results.”
