Fire causes damage at resort in eMalahleni

No one was injured in the blaze.

A fire broke out at Boat and Caravan Club (former Steve’s Place) over the weekend.

The fire of Friday night (July 5) caused significant damage to three units and the roof on one of the bedrooms in the main house.

Despite the significant damage, the bottom part of the house was saved because of the concrete roofs.

“Other than that, there is no damage. We are lucky the fire did not spread to the rest of the house. No one was injured said,” Steven Barham, owner of the resort.

Initial reports indicate that the blaze may have originated from a braai.

The main house at Boat and Caravan Club engulfed in flames.

Barham said they are already planning, and they have new ideas for the damaged units and will begin restoration soon.
