Witbank News team attends FCJ seminar

Witbank News editorial team attended the No Guts No Glory seminar at Olifants River Lodge.

The Witbank News editorial team recently attended the prestigious No Guts, No Glory seminar, hosted by the Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ) at Olifants River Lodge.
The annual gathering brought together 92 delegates from across South Africa, making it the largest assembly of journalists in the country.

Held on August 22-23, the seminar featured an impressive line-up of speakers, including André Gouws, Akademia lecturer and chief judge, who discussed the 2023 Avbob FCJ competition for excellent journalism; Rianette Cluely, managing director and chief editor of Briefly News, who explored the impact of artificial intelligence on community newspapers and Yolanda van der Stoep, a renowned photographer and judge of the Avbob competition, who provided valuable feedback on photography submissions.
