Tehreem finishes with a legacy of excellence at Patriot
Tehreem Hasmat completed her school career with many accolades.
Tehreem Hasmat (grade 12) needed a trailer to take home all the awards she received at Hoërskool Patriot’s merit evening.
This bright young mind received trophies for Best Senior Orator, economic sciences, English drama, business studies, Afrikaans, and tourism studies.
She also received honours for leadership, Spelling Bee South African Literacy Association (SALA), orators, and obtaining an above-average academic percentage.
To add to that, she received half colours for orators two years or more participation, orators SALA semi-finals, obtaining three diplomas and two gold certificates in the arts festival, and two years or more participation in the arts festival.
She was also awarded merits for cultural and academic achievements.
All together she headed home with 27 awards, including the Culture Award and Patriot Award for 2024.
Smangele Ngomane (Grade 12) also ended the year with 10 awards.
She was awarded the floating trophy for Best Performance in Accounting, a trophy for accounting, and a trophy for life orientation.
Smangele also maintained an above-average percentage this past year and received honours for it.
She received half colours for land service and merits for academic performance.
Tinyiko Khube (grade 12) took the shield for Best Academic Student of the Year. She was awarded two trophies for CAT and math literacy.
For maintaining a steady above-average academic percentage, she received honours, and for subject distinctions, she received merits.
Thabo Ntuli (grade 10) is this year’s sports star.
