5-year-old dance sensation takes the stage by storm

Adaline received a platinum award for her Acro solo dance.

Laerskool Taalfees learner Adaline Cannan (5) recently took part in the Acro Fusion Championships and scooped a platinum award for her outstanding performance.

Adaline’s love for dancing was demonstrated in her when started dancing at BodyWorX in July 2023.

In November 2023 she received a pro gold award at the Dance Fusion South Africa competition, and silver at the AFSA Acrobatics competition.

Seeing there was no stopping the young dynamite, in August she received a platinum award for her 90%-94% performance average and scooped a trophy as the overall winner in her age group.

On Sunday, September 22 she received a junior diploma at the National Eisteddfod Competition, in the same month she also received a platinum reward at the Acro Fusion SA competition.

For her outstanding performance and multiple accolades, in October Adaline received a gold medal at the BodyWorX Dance Championships Witbank.

On Tuesday, November 26 she had her dance school concert and prize giving where she was awarded a bright future trophy.

Hendrishia Jacobs head coach and BodyWorX Dance Studio Owner shared that it has been her pleasure teaching the talented 5-year-old. “I’m constantly amazed by her enthusiasm, and dedication to dance. She’s a shining star in the making. I’m excited to see where her love of dance takes her in the future,” Hendrishia cheered.

Her parents Chad and Jannita Cannan shared that their daughter makes them proud as parents, “to see her live out her love for dancing brings us so much joy.”

They added that Adaline loves both school and dance, “while practicing once a week at the dance school. She gets frustrated when she can’t get a trick right but doesn’t give up and pushes until she masters it,” Chad and Jannita ended.
