HGH makes ‘history’ with its Grade 8 concert

Have you ever wondered what will happen if you can go back in time? This year’s Grade 8 learners at Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog can answer this question with a ‘twist’.

Have you ever wished to travel in time? Maybe see the first heart transplant? Or, even crazier, do you dream of helping King Arthur pull the sword from the stone?

That is what this year’s Grade 8 learners did at Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog.

Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog had its annual ‘Groentjie-konsert’ last week on January 23, 24 and 25, titled ‘Twisted Histories’.

From Shakespeare to Einstein, travelling through historical Africa and helping King Arthur, the concert’s creativity will not be easily vanquished in the ‘future’.

Teachers also contributed to this historical event by ‘twisting’ out some wild and fun dance moves with smiles as bright as the stage lights.

Of course, a Grade 8 concert will not be complete without a performance by the Grade 12 council members.

One could easily see where the Grade 8 dancers got their groovy moves as council members dazzled the stage with enthusiasm, energy, and a taste for fun.

The Grade 8 learners certainly made the audience twist their stomachs with laughter and left behind a historical, fun-filled event in the school hall.
