Sinkholes and potholes wreak havoc on eMalahleni roads
Motorists warned of sinkhole and pothole on R555 toward eMalahleni.

Motorists traveling on the R555 toward eMalahleni are warned to exercise extreme caution due to the formation of sinkholes and potholes on the road.
The warning comes after a motorist reported a massive sinkhole forming on the R555, which has grown significantly over the past week.
“The sinkhole is big, and you don’t see it until it’s too late. There’s also a huge pothole in the direction of eMalahleni,” said the motorist.
The Emalahleni Local Municipality has also warned about a sinkhole on the gravel road leading to the Klipspruit Wastewater Treatment Plant in Kromdraai.
The sinkhole is located approximately 300m past the Eskom Distribution Station.
Motorists and community members are urged to exercise extreme caution when using this route, as the sinkhole poses a serious risk to vehicles and pedestrians.
