Municipality and Thungela show love to survivalist enterprises
Emalahleni Local Municipality and Thungela Thuthukani bring joy to 20 survivalist enterprises with essential tools of trade
The Emalahleni Local Municipality and Thungela Thuthukani have brought joy to the lives of 20 survivalist enterprises, including the women and men who tirelessly sell fresh vegetables and fruits.
On February 14, these enterprises received essential tools of trade – gazebos, chairs, and tables, aiming to enhance their operations and promote economic sustainability.
Thungela Resources’ Enterprise and Supplier Development Manager, Sandile Mkono, emphasised equipping these enterprises with the right tools. “This strengthens their ability to operate efficiently and grow within the local economy,” he explained.

Executive Mayor Clr Vusi Nhlapho, who has a special heart for survivalist enterprises, being a product of one himself, expressed his happiness at seeing these businesses receive attention.
“These tools of trade will help you thrive. We encourage you to use them wisely and maintain them so they can continue to support your businesses in the years ahead,” he said.

The beneficiaries were overjoyed and grateful for the support. “This equipment will help us increase our sales and provide better customer services,” said one beneficiary.

Another added, “We are thankful for the municipality’s support. This will go a long way in helping us grow our businesses.”
