Municipality on the red carpet because of new electricity meters

Residents have voiced their frustration over the newly installed electrical meters in eMalahleni and they are not getting answers from the municipality.

The installation of new meters is causing a lot of havoc.

  • Residents want to know why the new meters ‘slurp’ up more than usual units.
  • The question why the meters show an error has also not been answered by the municipality and the service provider.
  • And residents want to know why more service fees are payable.
  • Lastly, residents demand to know why the meters are installed in the wards paying for municipal services as to wards with a below 10% payment rate.

There will be a meeting with of all stakeholders, and five representatives of each ward held at the municipality on Friday at 10:00 and the hope is that all these questions will be answered.

WITBANK NEWS will be doing a live broadcast of the meeting.
