Premier Ndlovu tightens business fences

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu, addressed the Mpumalanga Business Connect at The Ridge. He outlined business investment plans and possible opportunities.

Mpumalanga Premier Mandla Ndlovu, addressed the Mpumalanga Business Connect last week. The address commenced at The Ridge Casino. The purpose of the event was to recognise issues and provide solutions in the business sectors.

The address outlined challenges faced by business sectors as well as the Emalahleni Local Municipality. Solutions to the recognised challenges were also suggested during the address.

“We want to do different from what’s being done in the Eastern Cape. By this, we are laying a foundation to do well in the Indaba year programme,” the premier said.

The address brought together various big businesses to present their investment plans as well as outlining their challenges. Kusile Power Station and Exxaro were among the businesses.

According to the presentation by Tebogo Leepile from Exxaro, challenges includes but is not limited to poverty, unemployment, crime, geopolitical risks and other things.

However, opportunities found also included agriculture, Transnet turnaround/trail availability, Government of National Unity, the Enterprise and Supplier Development Fund and other possible opportunities.

“Let’s work together – a partnership that is strong, is all we need to complete all our ongoing projects and start with new ones. We are doing it for a better Mpumalanga,” Leepile said.

According to the population and social statistics presented by the Mineral Council of South Africa, Mpumalanga’s Gini-coefficient income per capita was standing at 0.68 during the years 2019 to 2022. The statistics emphasised that it’s a completely equal society.

The premier closed off his address by giving thanks to Exxaro for assisting his people. He further highlighted on its projects while giving thanks. The address was measured a success and businesses together with the Mpumalanga are looking forward to a progressive partnership to change Mpumalanga.
