It certainly is a wet start to the day here in eMalahleni

The road conditions are horrible with water-logged roads and potholes making driving difficult.

Driving in eMalahleni and surrounding areas is not an easy task with all the potholes and mudslides.

The persistent rain is creating challenging road conditions, and it’s wise that authorities are reminding motorists to exercise extra caution.

Reduced visibility and spray from other vehicles can significantly impact reaction times.

Furthermore, slick road surfaces dramatically increase the risk of skidding and losing control, making even routine commutes potentially hazardous. It’s a good time to increase following distances and avoid sudden braking or sharp turns.

A warning was also issued to avoid low-water bridges.

Due to the on-going inclement weather conditions, basic services such as waste removal and street cleansing have also temporarily been suspended.

Witbank Dam was over 100% full this morning.
