Patriotic Alliance removes foreign nationals from Witbank Hospital
The party stated that they will proceed to another facility tomorrow, where they will continue the operation.
The Patriotic Alliance (PA) removed foreign nationals from Witbank Hospital earlier today.
After that, they stood by the gates where they checked to ensure that no one went in.
According to Zuenda Francis, Mayoral Candidate for the PA in eMalahleni, as a party, they decided to step in and remove the immigrants from the hospital, stating that they are not permitted to be in public facilities regardless of their status.
“We are doing this because the government is not doing enough for our nurses. They are overworked and underpaid, and these foreigners are treating our nurses so badly,” Francis said.
“We are enforcing the Immigration Act 13 of 2002 section 17, which is also supported by Section 21, 1F, of the constitution, which gives a clear directive that when foreign nationals come to South Africa, they must have a medical permit and utilise private hospitals and clinics,” Victoria Africa of the PA said.
The party hinted that this is only the beginning, as they will be proceeding with the operation on other facilities.
