Robber shot during robbery at Safarie Supermarket

It turns out that the man who was shot had a toy gun.

A robbery at Safarie Supermarket took a turn for the worst when a security guard caught the robbers by surprise.

One of the robbers was shot in the leg by a security guard who happened to stop to get something at the cafe.

He was just about to enter the popular supermarket when robbers ushered him in and told him they were busy.

“One of the robbers pointed a gun at me. Instinctively, I reached for my gun and shot,” the security guard said.

As the robber fled to the tavern next door to hide, his cohorts made a dash for it and fled the scene.

It turns out that the man had a toy gun.

An ambulance was called, and he was taken to the hospital.

An eyewitness said he got the fright of his life when he saw three men scatter and the one with the toy gun run into the tavern.

“I just saw guns and heard shots. A bullet just missed me,” the man said.
