Holland Street assault – 21-year-old is recovering at home

Enrico Rossi is out of hospital and recovering at home after the brutal assault in his house in Holland Street over the weekend.

The young man who was assaulted over the weekend during a home invasion has been discharged from the hospital.

Enrico Rossi (21) is recovering at home following an operation on his skull where doctors had to clean out the hole left after the assault.

His mom, Jackie Rossi, said the membrane covering his brain had to be repaired.

The next three months are crucial as infection must be prevented.

A plate will later be placed over the hole to cover it.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED

Rossi was attacked when his house was broken into on September 14.

His tiny dog woke him with growls, and he thought a cat had gotten into the house.

But as he switched on the kitchen light, he noticed his TV was missing.

He immediately phoned his parents.

Mom, Jackie Rossi, recalled the horrifying moments hearing her son plead for his life, “He saw a man with his face covered and shouted for him to get out, and the man ran out. Enrico immediately phoned Ryan to tell him his TV had been stolen, but as we answered the phone, we heard Enrico on the other end shouting they had come back in with a gun and a brick.”

Jackie and dad, Ryan, phoned back after the phone line went dead, and one of the perpetrators picked up, laughed, and ended the call again.

The perpetrators hit Enrico over the head with a brick twice, and as he fell, they took his watch and ripped his Saint Christopher necklace off.

They also ransacked his car, taking his phone and other belongings.
