Steenkamp Street mini substation restoration completed

The delays in the municipality's restoration of the substation were due to sudden rain that brought the process to a standstill earlier this week.

The power is back in some parts of eMalahleni that were affected by the Steenkamp Street

After three days of no power in some areas of eMalahleni following the burning of two substations, the city is now bright.

The restoration of the Steenkamp Street mini-substation was completed last night.

Some of the areas reported to be affected included Del Judor Extension 1 and 2, a portion of Del Judor Proper, Witbank Extension 5, 8, 16, and 41, and Klipfontein Industrial.

According to Clr Lizelle Steyn, only one resident in her ward, who was mainly impacted, is still without power. However, they are grateful as they now have the power back after a long three days.
