‘Miss Perfect’ champions empowerment and self-care in eMalahleni
Lindiwe Shabangu, aka Miss Perfect, empowers women and promotes self-care through Women’s Therapy in eMalahleni.
What began as a heartfelt conversation between friends has grown into one of eMalahleni’s most meaningful empowerment movements.
Women’s Therapy, founded in 2022 by local entrepreneur Lindiwe Shabangu, better known as Miss Perfect, continues to evolve as a safe space for women seeking healing, connection and personal growth.
Born and raised in the City of Coal, Lindiwe said her journey began with a heartfelt conversation.
“In 2022, a close friend and I talked about the struggles women face and how often we feel alone and unheard. That conversation planted a seed in me: to create a space where women could open up, share their stories, and heal together,” she explained.
Since its inception, Women’s Therapy has grown into an annual event focused on empowerment, healing, and transformation.
“It’s more than just an event,” she said. “It’s a safe space for women to confront emotional scars from anxiety, depression, or life challenges and leave with renewed confidence and a sense of self-worth.”
Next year’s plans
As of next year, Lindiwe is expanding her vision. She plans to host a special facial day, where women can enjoy skincare treatments using her line of products. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for essential toiletries and items to support men in the community, highlighting her inclusive philosophy.
“Men also matter,” she said. “We want to make sure that support and care extend to everyone in our community.”
Beyond Women’s Therapy, Lindiwe is actively involved in local youth initiatives. She is part of the management team and a sponsor for the Mr & Miss eMalahleni High School pageant, set to take place next May.
A culture of self-care, emotional openness
“Supporting young people, especially in areas like self-confidence and presentation, is just as important as empowering women,” she added.
Through her work, Lindiwe hopes to cultivate a culture of self-care, emotional openness, and mutual support.
“Our goal has always been to provide a space where women can reflect, learn, and grow without judgement,” she said.
“We want them to leave feeling empowered, equipped to manage their mental health, nurture their relationships, and prioritise themselves.”
For Lindiwe, the heart of her mission is simple: healing and empowerment start with connection. “When women come together to share their stories, something beautiful happens,” she said.
“They realise they are not alone, and that realisation can change everything.”
