Golden Oldies of Schoongezicht mark a successful Christmas feast

The Christmas feast featured motivational talks by guest speakers and highlighted God’s grace as the main foundation of it all.

The Golden Oldies of Schoongezicht, led by Khoisan chiefness, pastor in ministry, and chaplain Vallery Gindan, had a successful Christmas feast filled with moments of giving back the glory to whom it belongs.

Held on December 13, the feast brought together oldies in numbers who shared speeches, socialize, and worship God.

During the feast, guest speakers, including a local star, Melidah Mamakwa, took the stage and shared their experiences in encouragement of the attendees.

Supporting her statement with the book of Jeremiah 1:5, which states that “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nation,” Melidah emphasised that the oldies of Schoongezicht should understand and serve the purpose that the Lord has brought them on earth for.

“I used to think that because I have a degree, it means that I have all the wisdom I need, but it was not like that; our elders always have more wisdom than we do,” said Melidah.

Another speaker, Mpho Mtsweni, also graced the feast with her words of wisdom, encouraging the Golden Oldies to always take the lead in sharing their light with the younger generations.

According to the host, Vallery, her heart pours out to the Lord for making it possible for her to put smiles on the oldies’ faces.

“Thank you to our Father who gives me the strength, wealth, vision, leadership, and wisdom to do for our Golden Oldies of Schoongezicht a well-deserved Christmas feast, that I could see and appreciate how they enjoy it to the fullest,” Vallery said.

“Thanks to the owner of the venue who opened his heart to host the Christmas event on his premises, the speakers, Motha Capers for the chairs, Yvonne Collins for her assistance, Antoinette Kotzee Estrolita Kock, Memory Thabethe and her daughters for catering, my husband, Ivan Gindan who is always there for me, Shaun McDonald, Clayton Phillips, Miguel De Gama, Bernard Smiles, Fredrika Smiles for sewing all the covers of the goodie bottles and many others,” said Vallery.

“Thanks to all our old people who managed to be at the Christmas feast, and also to our old people who couldn’t manage. May God’s grace, mercy, and protection be over our golden oldies, lots of love,” Vallery added.
