Our own town in pictures – a wrap-up of the best snaps of the year

From the bustling streets and industrial skylines to moments of tragedy and triumph, the pictures reveal the heartbeat of the City of Coal.

The city witnessed all kinds of emotions through pictures this year! All thanks to those who stood behind the lens.

Crime scenes cordoned off with police tape show the harsh realities of violence and law enforcement challenges, while photographs of devastating accidents remind residents of the fragility of life on the roads.

Dirty streets and contaminated dams illustrate the city’s vulnerability to nature, contrasting with images of resilience where communities rally together in times of crisis.

On the softer side, WITBANK NEWS pictures also highlighted the cultural vibrancy of eMalahleni. Beauty pageants, youth competitions, and sports victories capture the pride and talent of its people.

Community marches and gatherings show a city that is not only grappling with challenges but also striving for accountability, unity, and hope.
