SACCW and partners bring 1 200 smiles to Emalahleni

Emalahleni celebrated New Year with SACCW, the mayor, and emergency services delivering 1 200 hot dogs to children and people in need.

The New Year began on a high note with a heart-warming community initiative that brought joy to eMalahleni.

A massive outreach project, spearheaded by the SACCW, the tow-in services, and ambulance services, saw 500 children in Ezinambeni treated to a day of fun, delicious hot dogs, and refreshing cold drinks.

In eMalahleni, hot dogs were also delivered to children’s homes, car guards, and the Highveld House of the Disabled.

A team of volunteers from the SACCW prepared the 1 200 hotdogs and neatly packed it together with the cold drinks to hand out.

The event was further highlighted by the participation of the Mayor of Emalahleni, Clr Vusi Nhlapo, who joined the convoy of volunteers, tow trucks, and ambulances

.
“There were so many people who donated, and to each and every one, we want to thank you for the huge difference you made,” said Annemarie Bouwer, the SACCW coordinator.

She said she was humbled by the gratitude of the community, the unity of the SACCW responders, and the different role-players who made the day possible.
