The shop owner remained in custody after being denied bail in his previous appearance.

The foreign national accused of raping a young man from Kwa-Guqa living with disability is expected to appear before the Witbank Magistrate’s Court today.

This comes after his appearance on December 11, when the Ethiopian shop owner was denied bail with his case postponed for further investigation.

The shop owner is accused of raping the 21-year-old, who is living with a disability.

According to All Voice Matter founder Abongile Mcoki, who also indicated that she is very close to the victim, she received his call on November 30 around 19:00, crying to her about the disturbing incident in which the Ethiopian man called him to his store, closed the door, and raped him.

The matter was reported to Vosman SAPS, who arranged for an immediate arrest.
