Help a resident locate a bicycle stolen from her bakkie at busy parking lot

The man was caught on a CCTV camera as he made off with the bicycle; however, he hasn’t been identified.

Tersia Maartens is appealing to the community for assistance after her son’s bicycle was stolen in broad daylight outside a shop near a local bar on Watermeyer Street.

According to Maartens, the incident occurred on January 24 at around 08:30.

The family had parked their bakkie outside the shop for a quick errand.

While her son was keeping watch, a man walked past, suddenly stopped, and approached the vehicle. In a matter of seconds, he grabbed the bicycle and ran off.

Despite immediately driving around the area in search of the suspect, the family was unable to locate him.

The woman is now asking for the public’s help in tracking down the stolen bicycle.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the whereabouts of the suspect and the bicycle is urged to contact Maartens at 084 359 2260.
