Vosman SAPS launches double inquests after two people die in Schoongezicht and Ackerville

Police in Vosman are investigating two unrelated deaths in Schoongezicht and Ackerville following the discovery of two bodies this month.

Vosman Police have confirmed that two separate inquests have been launched following tragic incidents reported in Schoongezicht and Ackerville earlier this month.

Schoongezicht incident

According to police, officers were called to a house in Schoongezicht on January 24 after concerns were raised about a man who had not been seen for several days.

They found that the man’s room, situated outside the main house, was locked. They forced entry and discovered the lifeless body inside.

Police investigations revealed that the deceased had sustained a stab wound, and a blood-stained knife was found on the floor.

Ackerville incident

In a separate case, police attended an inquest in Ackerville on January 19.

According to police, the body of a young woman was collected from a residence in Santa Village by a funeral parlour after she had already been certified dead by emergency medical services.

Witnesses told police that the woman had complained of severe stomach pain after allegedly ingesting poison.

She reportedly expressed regret before collapsing. Family members contacted emergency services, but she was declared dead at the scene.

Vosman SAPS confirmed that both incidents are being investigated as inquests to establish the full circumstances surrounding the deaths.
