HGH edges Curro in Nkangala Pool A hockey showdown

The match saw the pressure intensify for both sides as the teams faced off head-on.

Curro Bankenveld played host to an electrifying Nkangala Pool A League clash between Curro and Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog.


Held on April 29, the match was a tense battle from start to finish as both teams fought to secure the first spot.


In the end, it was HGH who managed to break the deadlock, securing a 1–0 victory.

“I am really proud of my team and how they played as a team. I know there’s always room for improvement,” said the HGH team coach, Manny Camara.


Curro Bankenveld’s coach, Barend Viljoen, referred to the match as one full-on fun.

“It was a fun and exciting game. Both teams showed great spirit and fought till the end,” he said.

That spirit was evident on the field, where neither side gave an inch, and every play was met with intensity.

According to Manny, their team has won four consecutive games recently, and they look forward to a tough match against HTS on May 6.
