HGH hockey teams show resilience in hard-fought matches against Volksrust

Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog’s girls’ hockey teams fought hard in a challenging round of fixtures against Hoërskool Volksrust, with several matches decided by a single goal.

Hoërskool Generaal Hertzog girls’ hockey teams delivered determined performances in a challenging set of fixtures against Hoërskool Volksrust.

Despite facing strong opposition on May 7, all teams demonstrated commitment, effort, and true HGH spirit throughout the day.

In the opening encounters, both the first and second team suffered narrow 1–0 defeats, with matches remaining tightly contested from start to finish. The girls showed solid defensive structure and fighting spirit, but were unable to find the equalising goal in either game.

The other age-group fixtures also proved competitive. The 15A side went down 2–1. The 14A team also fell just short, losing 1–0 in another closely fought contest.

In the 16A fixture, the match was similarly tight, with Volksrust edging ahead 1–0.
