Master your matric exams with these upcoming workshops
For matrics, the workshops focussing on maths, accounting and physical science are the perfect platform to get exam-ready.
Workshops tailor-made for matrics is happening right here in eMalahleni.
Instead of relying on traditional study methods, these workshops combine academic coaching and mental wellness to prepare learners for the exam.
Do we have your attention?
Equipping matric learners and their families with practical tools, expert guidance and proven strategies that improve academic performance, reduce stress, and prepare young people for life after school is the driving force behind Matric Masters.
For Joanél Kruger, co-owner of BioLink Brain Training Witbank and Pure Hearts Play Therapy, this venture is a community movement that brings schools, families, businesses and professionals together.
“We’re not just preparing learners to pass exams; we’re preparing them to build lives, careers and businesses,” Kruger said.
Who is on board?
Partnering with Kruger is a multidisciplinary team consisting of professionals with different strengths. BioLink Brain Training Witbank has, in the past 14 years, observed that traditional study methods work well for many theoretical subjects.
However, formula-based subjects like mathematics, physical science and accounting require a completely different strategy.
Joseph Hungula of Level Up Learning is the academic specialist behind the workshops.
Working daily with matric learners gave him first-hand insight into common mistakes, knowledge gaps, exam pressure and what today’s matric learners really struggle with.
Educational psychologist Jessica Simigians brings an entirely different perspective, reminding us that passing matric isn’t only about studying.
Learners also need emotional resilience, confidence, realistic career guidance, support structures and healthy family involvement.
She has helped shape the psychological and career-readiness aspects of the programme.
Ascendio Academy focuses on leadership, entrepreneurship and business development. The organisation’s contribution challenges learners to think beyond matric.
The questions ‘Who am I?’, ‘What am I good at?’, ‘How do I adapt?’, ‘How do I grow?’, ‘How do I become employable?’ and ‘What if I become an entrepreneur?’ are the focus of their programme.
Matric Masters is not just another study workshop
It is a co-ordinated learner development programme in which learners receive subject-specific exam preparation, practical exam strategies, formula-based learning systems, small-group tutoring, parent education, career guidance, business exposure, entrepreneurship development, and future-readiness training.
There are three workshops lined up:
• Science – July 31, from 13:00 to 17:00
• Maths – August 1, from 08:00 to 12:00
• Accounting – August 1, from 13:00 to 17:00.
Cost is R520 per workshop.
