Safety alert issued in eMalahleni Extension 16 following mysterious odor

The fire department is currently at the scene, and an investigation into the matter is underway.

Residents of Emalahleni Extension 16 and surrounding areas are urged to remain indoors following reports of a strange smell affecting a large part of the community.

According to Dino Padayache from Langamed, residents should stay calm, keep their windows closed, and avoid going outside until further notice. Emergency role players, including the Fire Department and other emergency services, are already at the scene to assess the situation.

At this stage, authorities cannot confirm the source or cause of the smell. Investigations are ongoing, and updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.

Following the incident, Laerskool Taalfees has released a statement calling on parents to come and collect their kids as the situation is not yet under control.
