Local attorney and firm no longer middleman for Emalahleni Local Municipality

Local attorney Mr Johan Coetzee will no longer handle the legal aspect of the municipality’s revenue collection.

In a media briefing this morning Clr Conny Nkalitshana, Executive Mayor of Emalahleni called on residents to pay their municipal accounts.

She announced that local attorney Mr Johan Coetzee will no longer be collecting revenue on behalf of the municipality.

She said she heard and listened to the community and the drastic decision was taken after hours of deliberating.

“I call on community activists to forge a unity of purpose to stop the culture of non-payment, bridging, tampering with electricity and water meters, and theft of copper cables because these kinds of social-ills are counterproductive and the community is punished by greedy criminals unfairly,” Clr Nkalitshana said.
