Elkana is up and running at its annual ‘Pay Per K’

The school’s annual ‘Pay Per K’ took place on Saturday, February 25, and runners supported with big smiles and sweat on their brows.

Last weekend was full of shoe-kicking to the curb action at Elkana Educational Centre with its annual ‘Pay Per K’.

The curb action took place on Saturday morning, March 4.

Annually, Elkana hosts its ‘Pay Per K’ race, also known as the ‘Rekkie Race’ where runners get their feet moving at the starting line at the school and run around the block for 1km.

This year, the curb action took place on Saturday morning, March 4.

When runners reach the finish line, they each receive a rubber band.

At the end of the running day, the bands of each participant are counted.

They pay for each kilometer ran to raise funds for the school.

Runners supported with big smiles and sweat on their brows as they ran for the school, one rubber band at a time.

The principal for the school, Ms Stacy Jansen, would like to thank the school staff and everyone who participated in the race for their support.
