Father seeks answers after driver fails to stop at accident

According to the reports, the child was hit by a car just outside the school.

Thulani Masilela, the father of Vincent Molopo, is saddened, and he is seeking justice following an incident where his son fell victim to a hit-and-run incident.

The son, Vincent Molopo (8), suffered severe injuries after he was hit by a car on Friday, October 17, just outside his school in Siyanqoba.

According to Masilela, he was at work when he received a call to notify him about the incident.

“I got a call from my neighbour, who told me that a random kid ran to them and asked them to call me to notify me that my son was hit by a car and left unattended on the road. I had to leave work and rushed home. When I got there, he was already at home, brought by someone from the school. I saw my son sleeping on the couch, helpless, with blood on his face and body. I had to rush him to the hospital, and when we got there, they notified me that his bones had suffered injuries, too. The X-ray showed a fracture on his shoulder,” said Masilela.

“At least the person who hit my son should have stopped and helped. I want justice to be served. The authorities must play their part.”

A case was opened at the Witbank SAPS, and a police investigation is underway.
