Chaos on the N4 calls for motorists’ vigilance following protest

Circumstances that led to the protest remain unclear at this stage.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution on the N4 near the CBD toward Kwa-Guqa following a protest that caused significant traffic congestion earlier today.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that protestors have allegedly been throwing stones at passing vehicles and forcibly taking truck keys. As a result of the unrest, several trucks remain stationary by the roadside.

However, they are posing a danger toward motorists driving past the area.

Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the N4 near the CBD, toward Kwa-Guqa, and make use of alternative routes.

Police are at the scene.
