LFA Easter Soccer Tournament brings fire, talent, and glory
The Emalahleni LFA Easter Soccer Tournament brought together young footballers across multiple divisions.
The Emalahleni Local Football Association (LFA) Easter Soccer Tournament lit up Hoërskool Kriel’s sports field, delivering a full day of competitive football, rising talent, and strong community support.
Sponsored by Glencore, the tournament brought together teams across multiple age groups, including U11, 13, 15, 17, 19, and a ladies division. From the first whistle, the event was filled with energy as young players showcased skill, discipline, and determination in front of enthusiastic supporters.
Across the different divisions, teams fought hard for top honours. Young Aces FC were crowned U11 champions after a confident display throughout the tournament, while Mpumelelo FC lifted the U13 trophy.
One Goal Football Academy secured victory in the U15 category, and Makubephi FC were crowned senior tournament champions after a strong and composed performance.
The event also recognised outstanding individual talent, with players earning awards for their performances on the day.
In the U11 division, Philly Khoza stood out as both top goal scorer and best player, while Yamukelani Madlala was named goalkeeper of the tournament. In the U13 category, Ntandokayise Mahlangu impressed with both goals and overall play, earning top scorer and best player honours, with Nkosi Mpendulo recognised as goalkeeper.
In the U15 division, Thabiso Nkabule finished as top goal scorer, while Somalenze Mxamba was named best player and Abongwe Maduna took the goalkeeper award.
The U17 category saw Silindokuhle Mthombeni shine as top scorer, with Ntuthuko Banda named best player and Bonga Maseko recognised as goalkeeper.
In the ladies’ division, Nobuhle Mdluli claimed the top scorer award, Lwazi Zulu was named best player, and Liema Boya took the goalkeeper honour.
In the U19 division, Ntokozo Mabena was crowned top goal scorer, Sello Letsholo was named best player and Promise Ngonyama stood out as goalkeeper of the tournament.
Organisers praised the tournament as a successful platform for youth development, noting that it continues to play an important role in giving young footballers exposure, experience, and motivation to pursue the sport at higher levels.
