Emalahleni Kwa-Guqa Masters League tide has turned
As the battle toughens, 3D Masters remains at the top, however, on edge as Maredi United threatens to take the position.
The Emalahleni Kwa-Guqa Masters League has taken a dramatic turn, and the latest round of fixtures has displayed just how much the competition at the top has shifted.
At the beginning of the season, 3D Masters looked unstoppable. They opened their campaign with commanding performances, collecting points with ease and leaving rivals trailing.
For weeks, it seemed as though the title race would be nothing more than a procession, with 3D Masters cruising alone at the top.
But the recent matches played on June 21 tell a different story. St John Masters and All Nation Masters battled to a 1–1 draw, while Phatudi Masters fell 1–2 to Maredi United.

Elsewhere, Shining Stars shared the spoils with Dangerous Darkies, and Umlilo Masters were edged out 1–2 by Vithiza Legends.
These results show that points are being dropped across the board, and the gap at the top is narrowing.
The league log now reflects a far more competitive picture. 3D Masters are no longer enjoying a comfortable lead; instead, rivals have stepped up, turning a one-horse race into a tense battle.
3D Masters remains at the top with just 12 points, followed by Maredi United with at least 11 points.
All Nation Masters also sit on at least nine points, followed by Shining Stars with eight points.
3D Masters are still in the mix, but they are no longer unchallenged.
