Ordinary journeys turn into carjackings in Kwa-Guqa

Police are investigating three separate carjacking cases reported in the Vosman policing area within four days.

Vosman police are investigating three separate carjackings after ordinary trips took a terrifying turn for motorists in the area.

On August 20 at 10:53, a company vehicle was at a local crèche in Kwa-Guqa Extensions with four people inside. According to police, two occupants had left the vehicle to fetch medication when two men allegedly entered the Nissan Almera. One suspect was reportedly armed with a firearm. The occupants were instructed to get out before the suspects drove away with the vehicle.

Motorist intercepted in Ext 14

Later that evening, at 20:20, another motorist was driving home from work along Ext 14 when a blue Volkswagen Polo allegedly blocked the vehicle. Two men allegedly forced their way into the Toyota Hilux, pushed the driver between the seats and covered his face. He was allegedly driven to Kroomdrai, where he was held at gunpoint before the suspects drove away with the vehicle.

On August 23 at 21:50, a third motorist was dropping off his last passenger next to a local tavern in Hlalanikahle Ext 1 when two men approached him. One was allegedly armed with a firearm and instructed him to get out of the Toyota Quantum. The suspects then drove away with the vehicle.
