Hlalanikahle Primary’s Naledi spells her way to nationals
The young eMalahleni spelling star will carry Mpumalanga’s hopes to the national stage while inspiring others with her passion for words.
Hlalanikahle Primary School in Ackerville is celebrating the achievement of Grade Six learner Naledi Matsane (12). She has been selected to represent Mpumalanga at the Sanlam Words Open Worlds (WOW) National Spelling Festival in Stellenbosch on October 3.
“Your hard work, dedication and determination have truly paid off,” said the school’s principal, Lungile Zwane. “We are incredibly proud of you and wish you all the best at the nationals. Keep spelling, keep shining and make us proud.”

Promoting literacy
The Sanlam WOW Spelling Festival, a Stellenbosch University flagship initiative, promotes literacy, language development, reading and learner confidence.
The national final not only celebrates academic achievement but also exposes young learners to the university environment and opportunities linked to future study.
