Western Province stunned by SWD

South West District continued their dominance on the field on day three of the under-18 Craven Week when they toppled Western Province 38-23 on Wednesday afternoon.

The victory means they played their way into a favourable position for a place in the final match of the tournament.

On the park the play was an exciting with a mix of close encounters and some big wins that added in a great amount of spice to the tournament.

The Western Province side were highly determined but the SWD held their own to create one of the biggest upsets of the tournament, while earlier KwaZulu-Natal defeated hosts the Pumas 38-27.

Other matches saw the Griquas CD register a 26-20 victory against Zimbabwe, while the Limpopo Blue Bulls were thrashed 78-17 by Border and the Griffons beat Eastern Province CD 33-15.
