Recovery in the local COVID-19 cases 

In a statement on March 31, Mpumalanga Department of Health spokesperson, Mr Dumisani Malamule said that there are a total of four positive cases reported in the Nkangala district which comprises of eMalahleni, Middelburg, Delmas, Belfast, Kwaggafontein and Verena.

it has been three weeks after the breaking news of the first COVID-19 case in eMalahleni.

To this date, the stats received from the Mpumalanga Department of Health increased by about 10+ cases since March 31 as Mpumalanga stood on 24 new cases on April 20.

WITBANK NEWS reported on March 31 that the first case was reported in eMalahleni.

The Mpumalanga Department of Health spokesperson, Mr Dumisani Malamule confirmed the first case of the COVID-19 virus.

”The man was in self-isolation and not hospitalised as the symptoms he has shown was not severe. He is being monitored closely,” said Malamule.

In a statement on March 31, he further said that there are a total of four positive cases reported in the Nkangala district which comprises of eMalahleni, Middelburg, Delmas, Belfast, Kwaggafontein and Verena.

Up to date no new cases of the virus were reported in this district but 14 recoveries of this virus.

WITBANK NEWS further reported that there was one positive case after a visit by the Mpumalanga Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Mr Gwede Mantashe.

“There are currently three confirmed cases of this virus in the mining and energy sectors which one is in Gauteng, one in Mpumalanga and one in the Western Cape,” WITBANK NEWS reported.

Although these positive cases were reported it came to light that both of them have recovered in this isolation period.

The public is advised to call the coronavirus hotline on 0800 029 999 with any suspected cases of corona or to report or obtain information relevant to the pandemic.
