SANCA Walk Away from Drugs fund-raiser
SPRING starts with a healthy and colourful community event this Saturday as the 9th annual Sanca/Bay Watch ‘Walk Away From Drugs’ takes place.
It’s not a race and there is place for all, including prams, dogs and parrots – even those who have not pre-entered can just arrive and be a part of this important and fun activity.
Dress boldly and brightly as you show your support for Sanca’s wonderful efforts to prevent and treat drug and alcohol addiction.
The from the Zululand Yacht Club to Naval Island entails a gentle stroll of just under 5kms, with a number of water table sponsors along the way providing plenty of fun and games along with the sachets kindly donated by Mhlathuze Water.
The walk itself starts at 9am but will be preceded by a number of activities, including the popular Bootcamp warm-up, Tiara Peters dance show, police sniffer dogs and more.
As usual, a number of prizes are up for grabs, including a computer, printer and scanner for the school with the highest number of entrants, courtesy of South 32, who also supply medals for every finisher.
The Richards Bay IDZ has again come to the party by donating a computer desk, while Mondi has supplied 20 reams of paper.
The event is open to all with an entry donation of R10 for adults and R5 for children.
