BIDVEST McCarthy Toyota in Richards Bay has started 2024 with a new, vibrant team at the helm of South Africa’s favourite car brand.
Njabulo Mcambi has been appointed as Dealer Principal, while Tammy Harmse heads the new car sales department as Manager.
The Automark side of the dealership is now in the hands of Pre-owned Sales Manager Preggy Naidoo, and Angelique Vermaak is Aftersales Manager, who overseas the workshop and parts departments.
With a total of 27 different vehicles in their stable, from the Vitz hatchback to the Quantum bus, and with the local market’s two best-selling vehicles in between in the form of the Hilux bakkie and the Toyota Corolla Cross, they really give meaning to the term ‘cars for the people’.
The new managing team invites all Toyota enthusiasts to trust them when buying their next car, and to put their sales- and aftersales service to the test.

Meet the new DP
Njabulo Mcambi takes up the reins at Toyota Richards Bay with extensive experience in the automotive industry.
He hails from the Durban area, and started his career 16 years ago in the HR department of McCarthy Toyota Pinetown.
In 2011, he joined the sales team at Lexus Kingsmead, selling new and used cars from this premium brand.
It was at Lexus that Njabulo learnt that clients deserve a premium buying experience, and he forwarded this facet of car sales when he was appointed as Automark Manager at Pinetown Toyota in 2017.
Now, as Dealer Principal at Toyota Richards Bay, he aims to make the dealership the number one Toyota outlet in KZN.
Njabulo says the first thing he noticed when moving to Zululand was that customer service is not on par with what is the norm in the metros, ‘and that has to change’.
“Faster and better service.”
That’s what he wants to achieve as the new Toyota Richards Bay Dealer Principal.
When not managing a very busy car dealership, Njabulo spends time with his wife and their two boys.
