Loyal service rewarded

Mhlathuze Water honors 40 long service employees

MHLATHUZE Water rewarded 40 long service employees at a function held at Canefields.

The dedicated staff members were recipients of awards ranging from 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service.

Praised for making 2013 one of the best ever years for the water utility, the recipients were described as ‘the greatest asset’ of the company.

Also noted was that the staff ‘do not shy away from challenges and are able to seize opportunities to seek new and better ways of doing things’.

At the event, 14 employees who obtained academic qualifications through the company’s study assistance scheme over the last five-year period and the three employees who obtained professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa were also honoured.

In his speech, Acting Chief Executive, Sibusiso Makhanya thanked recipients for their continued commitment and loyalty.

‘I’m really proud of how you’ve all pulled together and the terrific results Mhlathuze Water is achieving.

‘It is truly an honour for me to be the responsible head when such achievements are taking place.’
