Car crashes through wall into swimming pool

The two cars had reportedly been dicing in the narrow street in Arboretum.

THERE was a startling start to the weekend for an Arboretum Extension family when a car smashed through their boundary wall and plunged into the swimming pool last night as they were preparing for an early bedtime.

The loud crash also saw their Jacaranda street neighbours pour from their houses, in time to witness a second vehicle – an Audi – speed from the scene.

The two cars had reportedly been dicing in the narrow street, which has a number of traffic calming humps.

Police were soon on the scene and the sole young male occupant of the Hyundai Getz, who was uninjured, was accompanied to the Richards Bay Police Station.

While extensive damage was caused to the property, no occupants were injured.
