Stock theft clampdown

Police recover 395 stolen cattle, goats, sheep and horses.

IN an attempt to curb rampant stock theft in the province, KwaZulu-Natal stock theft units yielded positive results when they arrested 80 suspects.

During the operation 395 stolen cattle, goats, sheep and horses were recovered in areas such as Nongoma, Babanango, Ceza, Mondlo and Bergville.

The operation was conducted between 9 and 16 October.

Thirty-five stock owners were also issued with fines for contravening with the Animal Identification Act.
