MTHONJANENI (Melmoth) traffic cops Thokozani Dladla and Sakhile Mthabela appeared briefly in the Melmoth Magistrate’s Court last week on charges of fraud.
The case was postponed to 17 November pending further investigation.
Dladla and Mthabela meanwhile have continued to report for duty.
According to Mthonjaneni Municipal Manager Raymond Mnguni, they are being confined to office duties in plain clothes.
‘I can only initiate an internal disciplinary processes once I have received written confirmation from the authorities,’ he said on Wednesday.
This despite assurances from authorities in charge of the investigation that they had in fact notified Mnguni after the initial arrest in August.
