The most popular vehicle in SA for the year was again the Toyota Hilux, with a total sales tally of 35 684 units.

Well, thanks to the loyal support of car rental companies, the SAPS and everybody living in the Free State, Toyota has outsold its competitors for the 36th year running.

The Japanese automaker, including its Lexus and Hino brands, achieved a total of 123 028 new vehicle registrations in 2015, which translates to a 19.9% average market share.

The most popular vehicle in SA for the year was again the Toyota Hilux, with a total sales tally of 35 684 units.

The Etios, Corolla, Corolla Quest, and Quantum all recorded average sales in excess of 800 units per month.

‘The next 12 months will provide the benefits of a number of new models, including our best-seller stalwarts in the form of Hilux and Fortuner, delivering on our promise to continue offering ever-better cars,’ said Calvyn Hamman, Toyota’s Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing.

‘Equally as important, we will continue to implement a cultural shift throughout our company and dealer network, focused on ensuring owners and prospects are treated as valued guests of the Toyota family.’
