JUSTICE was served for two young girls who were raped in the sanctity of their homes.
The accused, Bhetithemba Cele, is believed to have been working as a handyman at their Empangeni house at the time of the incidents, which occurred in February 2014.
Both girls were eight years old at the time.
The 48-year-old from Ndabayakhe was arrested months later, in October that year, and was subsequently found guilty on two counts of rape.
The Empangeni Magistrate’s Court sentenced him to 15 years imprisonment effective immediately, and he will be added to the national register of sex offenders.
