Cold expected to continue as localised flooding hits KZN
Emergency teams and law enforcement authorities will remain on high alert in the region, Should it be required, roads will be closed in the interest of safety.

ICE cold weather conditions, including rain and snow, are expected to continue tonight and tomorrow.
Some roads in the KZN Midlands were closed for most of today due to snow and sleet.
KZN EMS has issued a warning to all motorists in which it says that more rain and sleet is expected to fall on the N3 Toll Route over the next 24 hours, causing treacherous driving conditions.

Freezing temperatures and surface moisture (rain and sleet) may cause the formation of black ice on the road surface resulting in very slippery road conditions,’ read the warning.
‘Sub-zero temperatures are expected along parts of the Route tonight.’
The N3 Toll Route runs from Heidelberg in Gauteng and Cedara in KZN.

Flooding
Locally, Empangeni and Richards Bay have enjoyed substantial rainfall since last night and through the day.
Main Road in Empangeni was again under water for some hours.
Some areas in Durban have reported more than 100mm in six hours this morning.
Figures from Zululand are expected later this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
