Life sentences for three rapists
The woman was accosted by three men, who took turns raping her and then took her refrigerator
THE Nongoma Regional Court on Monday convicted and sentenced three accused to life and 15 years imprisonment for rape and robbery.
Mdaluyazi Sazi Mthethwa (28), Sifiso Wiseman Sithole (30) and Zamokuhle Lindelani Khumalo (28) received life sentences for rape and 15 years for robbery.
The sentences will run concurrently.
The rape took place in the Sqolweni area, Nongoma in February 2014.
A then 22-year-old woman was accosted by three men, who took turns raping her and then took her refrigerator.
A case of rape and robbery was opened at Nongoma police station and the accused were arrested in February this year.
